Customer Question

I replaced my battery in my 2010 jeep commander now the radio won't turn on. I checked the radio fuse under thevhood #28 and it's still good. Is there a fuse on the radio itself or what else can be done to get it to work

Good morning and welcome to JustAnswer!!!

Can you do me a favor and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes and reconnect and let me know of the radio comes back on.. If not reply back with the last 8 digits of your VIN so I can get a wiring diagram..

I unhooked the battery for 5 minutes but radio still won't come on. Last 8 of vin #6H425290

I attached the radio wiring.. Can you check fuses 1 and 36 under the hood and see if they are good and have 12v.. If both are good and have 12v then remove the radio and see if the Gray/Light Green has 12v and if good then the radio is bad and will need to be replaced..

Glad I could help and thank you for the positive rating,

Brad

There are no fuses in spaces for 1 and 36.

Can you put a fuse in each one and see if the radio comes on?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I put a fuse in each but still didn't work
Expert:  Brad replied 1 year ago.

I have attached the PDC so you can double check that is the correct fuse box that you are checking..

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
None of my fuse boxes look like that

Can you check the VIN for me? You wrote Last 8 of vin #6H425290

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
That's the last 8 of the vin #

After checking the VIN it comes back on a 2006 Chrysler 300.. Your question said you have a 2010 Commander... Can you explain?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Sorry about that, I got the vin from my wife's insurance card and they must've put my vin # ***** it by accident. The last 8 of the vin are AC118213

Thanks for the clarification..

I attached a new wiring diagram.. Can you check fuse 28 under the hood and tell me if it's blown?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It's still good
Expert:  Brad replied 1 year ago.

Fuse 28 supplies the radio with 12v, so if the fuse has 12v then remove the radio and verify it has 12v and ground and if good then you will need to replace the radio..

Glad I could help and thank you for the positive rating,
