Customer Question

Hi, I am Jari
I have starting problem. Battery is fully loaded, but occasionally when starting, I hear only click,
(like relay?) but starter don't go on. When trying several times, starts the engine. 2005 Grand Cherokee 5,7

Good afternoon and welcome to JustAnswer!

I attached the wiring diagram for the starter.. If your hearing a click when you start sometimes then it could be a bad starter but here's how to test.. When it will not start and clicks then open hood and remove the starter relay and jum pins 30 and 87 and see if starter engages.. If it just clicks then replace the starter.. If the starter engages and spins the engine over then test pins 86 for 12v and pin 85 for a ground when the key is in the start position.. This will tell you if you have a bad starter or the TIPM(FuseBox) is bad...

I hope this helps and if you need anymore assistance feel free to reply..

And thank you for the positive rating,
