Is this the Jeep AMC engine on the CJ 5 or 7 .

Hi .
Sorry did not get back sooner we have been experiencing power shortage.
Most common issue for your problem after a rebuild is the set up of the
timing chain , was the timing marks set up facing each other or opposite sides .
The distributor is fitted 180° off ,very common .
The wiring plug leads ,
Quick check is to swap plug in the distributor cap..
6 with 1 , 5 with 2, and swap 3 with 4..
