99 jeep grand cherokee - do i need to pull the c-ring out of the diff. before pulling out the axles to change the bearings?
I want to replace the rear axle bearings and seal, inner and outer pinion bearing and seals

Hello, my name is***** you for allowing me to assist you! No not on that year. You will need to rent a slide hammer though. Below is the removal procedure.

AXLE SHAFT
REMOVAL
1.Raise and support vehicle. Ensure that the transmission is in neutral.
2.Remove wheel and tire assembly.
3.Remove brake caliper and rotor.
4.Through access hole in axle flange, remove nuts holding axle retainer plate to axle tube.
5.Using Slide Hammer 7420, Adapter 6790, and suitable lug nuts, pull axle shaft from vehicle.
