Just arrived at the Jeep, turned car on still no power in the coil pack harness
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 2 years ago.
ok, give me a second to bring up the wiring diagrams,Tim
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 2 years ago.
Ok, first we need to see if the dark green/orange wire has 12 volts with the key on, and when cranking?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I have a test light, and yes there is power coming from the green wire that goes into the fuse block
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 2 years ago.
this wire is at the coil, it is green with a red stripe, does itnhave power at the coil end?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
No it does not have power
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 2 years ago.
ok, this wire gets its power from the !8 fus in the fuse box under the hood, do youn have power on both sides of this fuse, when the key is on and also when cranking?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Can you give me a little more detail. I don't know if it is a big fuse or small and what amperage
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 2 years ago.
below is a picture of the fuse bix, its labeled F18 in the diagram,Tim
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I checked the little fuses and discovered a 20 amp fuse that was broken. I'll replace it and let you know if that solves it.
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 2 years ago.
is it the one marked "F18" in the diagram?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Took the fuse out. No power coming from the block and the fuses are not broken
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 2 years ago.
ok, this fuse gets its power from the ASD relay, autoshut down relay, in the same fuse box, can you swap this relay with the cooling fan relay, right next to it, and see if it starts?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Great, I'll swap them out
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 2 years ago.
let me know if it starts,Tm
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I took both relay fuses out. The fuse block has power but nether relay works. Maybe I have to go to Auto Zone and buy new ones
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 2 years ago.
I would first start with a new relay, can you try this and let me know?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Tim I want to thank you for all of your help. I will have to wait until tomorrow after work to get the relays. Soon as I get back to the Jeep, I'll put them in and let you know what happens. Keith 😃
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 2 years ago.
Anytime my friend, let me know,Tim
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Good evening Tim, just put both relays in the fuse block. Still not getting any power to the coil harness! I'm stuck. Keith
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Good morning Tim. Hope you had a wonderful and blessed Father's day. I swapped out the relays and bought new ones. I'm getting power from the fuse block however still nothing going to fuse Friday -18. Keith
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 2 years ago.
I am sorry, I was off for the weekend, so when you removed the relay, and checked for power at each termonal, one had power at all times and another had power with the key on and cranking, is this correct?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Yes, but both 15 Amp fuses / F-18 and the one to the left of it is still not getting power. I'm thinking maybe the C.P.S., Crank Position Sensor might be bad. What do you think? Keith
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 2 years ago.
No, the CPS will not effect this, can you put your fingers o the relay when turning the key on , and see if the relay clicks?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I'll check it out as soon as I get off of work. Should be at the vehicle by 3:30 this afternoon. Keith
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 2 years ago.
if the relay does not click, then its going to be a problem inside the relay box, and it will need to be disassemble to find the open in the circuit,Tim
