Grand Cherokee Laredo: 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo stalls.

Customer Question

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo stalls. I was told that the problem was the PCM. But after having the PCM replaced the problem continues. The engine seems to be running smoothly it just shuts down while driving at traffic lights and stop signs.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!
Lack of fuel would cause hesitation and the engine to die slowly, if it's dying abruptly then you're losing spark.
There are many possible causes for lost spark. If the PCM is actually going down it could be losing a power or ground, the 5v reference circuits could be shorting to ground, or the sensor ground circuit could be shorting to voltage.
It could also be an issue with the crank sensor, cam sensor, or the ASD relay circuit. The crank sensor would be most common.
The first thing that will need to be done is check for fault codes. Most causes for lost spark will set a code.
