poor gas mileage (11 mi/gal).I can see fuel gauge go down! Just had tune up but no change in mileage. I suspect a leak while engine is running. Can't find any leaks (gas tank) when parked in driveway. Is there a sensor that would cause such a dramatic change? Thz,Ray

no! engine light never came on.
6 0r 8 cylinder...2 orXXXXX..ifXXXXX is it a select trac or quadra drive
6 cylinder quadra drive
the quadra drives are terrible on gas mileage...what do you normally get for mileage?
Been getting 17 city 19/21 hyway
do you buy gas from the same gas station?
yes...HESS
ok gas is the biggest killer of fuel mileage lately...ethanol hurts fuel mileage...if there is a station that sell un mixed fuel start there.
other major losses of fuel mileage can be tire pressure, bad tires or a vehicle thats out of alignment...
also oxygen sensors that are old and not working well can play a big effect...along with a clogged air filter
Had comp check and no codes came up.I'm assuming 02 sensors are ok! I filled up with a different (regular) gas. Suspecting a clogged fuel filter,I put in a bottle of LUCAS fuel treatment.when I realized the filter is in the tank! Waiting to see what happens! Is there a way of checking 02 sensors without engine light going on or to see if there "partially" working ?
you would need a scanner that shows live data to monitor the o2s
