Customer Question

I have all the idiot lights coming on in my 2006 Jeep Cherokee Limited and dealer is saying it is the electronic ABS module. The Jeep runs fine as usual, but all the lights come on. Dealer wants $550 to install ! Can I do this myself and do you believe it could be the ABS?

Yes this could definitely cause this. The ABS module live on what is called a vehicle BUS system. This is the communication system for all the modules on the vehicle. So if the ABS module is failing it can cause all these lights to come on. You can physically install it your self but you can not program it to the vehicle, preform the initialization of the module, or preform the ABS bleed with out a factory scan tool. So It is best to let the dealer do this. They are the most familiar with your vehicle and have all the correct tools to preform the repair needed. The only other thing that would cause this is the ignition switch and connector for the switch. I would ask them to make sure they have checked that first and if they have then go with the ABS if they havent take it back to them and have them check the ignition switch and connector for causing this problem as well
