2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee wont start

Resolved Question:

My 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee won't start. When you turn the key nothing happens, no clicking, nothing, but all of the lights, radio, power seats, windows etc. work fine. The Transmission over temp message flashes quickly when you turn the key to off

Ok, well first what engine is in your vehicle? Also does your keyless entry work?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
it is a 6 cylinder & the keyless entry works

Ok well this is what you will need to check. There is a round connector on the passenger side towards the front of the trans. Since you are getting the trans fluid temp warning un plug this connector. Try to start the vehicle. Dont put it in gear because it wont go with this connector un plugged. It will also cause a check engine light to come on. If the vehicle starts with this un plugged the you will need to replace the control unit that is on top of the valve body inside the trans. If it still dosent start then you will want to un plug the trans controller. If it starts with the trans controller un plugged then you will need to replace the controller. These are most likely one of the two things causing your problem since you are getting the trans fluid temp warning on your cluster
