HiCustomer Thank you for asking your question on JustAnswer. The other Experts and I are working on your answer. By the way, it would help us to know:
-Could you explain your situation a little more?
I know how to repair your gas "hand" guage issue, but could be a few possibilities on your gas filling issue. First, Is there any damage or dents to the gas tank or the rear of the vehicle. Second, what happens if you back the nozzle out of the gas filler slightly? Does gas go in continuously? or does it still shut off the nozzle?
Thank you again for trusting us with your problem. Please reply as soon as possible so that we can finish answering your question.

Hi kennyb28, there is no damage or dents to the gas tank or rear of the vehicle, I've tried backing it out some, it will still click off unless you go slowly.

It sounds like you have two problems.

1- Bad fuel level sending unit.

2- plugged vent line on the fuel vent hose. (its the small one that runs next to the large fuel filler hose.

***WARNING***

WARNING: The fuel system is under constant fuel pressure even with the engine off. This pressure must be released before servicing fuel tank.

You have to drop the fuel tank to do this so its recommended you replace the entire fuel pump module whe you do this.

The fuel gauge sending unit (fuel level sensor) and float assembly is located on the side of fuel pump module. The fuel pump module is located on top of fuel tank.
