The trunk will not close, It opened when I used the key fob

Customer Question

The trunk will not close
JA: What exactly is happening to the trunk?
Customer: It opened when I used the key fob to put something in and then will not close. I hear things clicking when I press my fob. I had a windshield in the front replaced yesterday if this matters.
JA: What is the model/year of your Jaguar?
Customer: I have a 2005 s type
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Trying...
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Just stressed :)

You can try operating the emergency release handle in the trunk and also try using the key in the trunk trunk lock cylinder as this will sometimes free upo a sticking latch. You can also try lubricating the trunk latch. If it still will not close it may need to be replaced.
