Hi there. Welcome to our site.

Code P0328 points to a bad knock sensor/circuit on bank 1 (passenger side, center of the cylinder block under the intake manifold), which accounts for the loss of power. The other code, P1646, sets when the ECM detects a fault with the up stream Oxygen sensor/circuit (top sensor also on bank 1).

WILL THOSE CODE MAKE JERK AND WANT TAKE GAS WILL NOT GO OVER 60 MPH IT SO SLOW IT Take 1/4 miles to get 30 mph sat still it will go over 4000 rpm on road u mike get 3000 rpm

will those code make it jerk & want tAKE GAS WANT GO 60 MPH IT RPM WANT GO 3000RMP ON ROAD
Expert:  Juan Crespo replied 1 year ago.

Yes, especially code 328. Bad knock sensors can make the computer retard timing to the point that the engine looses power.

knock sensor replace it still doing samething 1000 to 3000 rpm it will take gas good sat still on road sound like giving out gas then all or sundder it take off like a jet

Assuming the new sensor is good, then there's something wrong with the circuit or the computer causing the same symptoms and codes. The best way to diagnose this type of fault is with...

  • a scan tool. Bring up the Knock Sensor PID (KS), then, with the engine running, take a small hammer and tap the engine near where the knock sensor is located. If the system is OK, the KS PID will change and engine timing will be retarded.
  • a single channel scope. Compare KS signals at idle and at WOT (see attached graphics)

Best Regards.
