Richard we did the engine swap and the engine we put in, never had an egr valve the engine we took out of this 97 xk8 had an egr valve and a plug for it.The engine we received had the entire engine harness already with it. It was a plug and play. But after we started our new engine we seen an engine code that address the egr valve.Even though the car runs great we do not want to put in the old engine harness, to hook up the egr, but I do not want the engine light either. How can we by pass it

There really is no way to bypass this as your ECU is looking for the EGR valve. If you get the ECU from that engine vehicle this would be the only thing you can do. If you swap in that ECU it will need to be programmed for the immobilizer.
yes we took the ecu from the other vehicle and yes you are absolutely right it did not start at all. Can any jag dealer do this??
Also I am really contemplating just disabling the engine light by removing the cluster.
Yes any Jag dealer can perform the reset of the security known as an immobilization program.
If I use the launch scanner which is very good with the Jags, can I use this on this immobilization. How much does this service cost?
Only the Jag factory tool can perform this program. Most dealer will charge between .5-1.0 hour labor.
