Customer Question

I have a 07 xk8 convertible and the top is up and fully latched but the ipc indicates the the top is unlatched. We have tried to to the relearn procedure outlined in the owners manual by undoing the screw on the pump and pulling on the cable but it still will not unlatch. Is there anything we can do with out having to visit the dealer which is 240 kms away?

Country: Canada
Make: Jaguar
Model: XK
Year: 2007

Already Tried:
Undoing battery, for soft reboot of ten minutes, and manual relearn proicedure but roof would not unlatch.

Ok first lets try another way. If you used the allen wrench to open the manual valve on the top pump close it then close all the doors and trunk and start the vehicle.
Try pressing and holding both front window switches in the up direction and hold it for five seconds. Then press the top down switch and hold it for up to one minute and the top should lower. Then press and hold the top up switch for up to one minute and the top and all windows should close.
If this does not work then lets open the top manually. Use the allen wrench behind the rear seat back and turn the release on the pump counter clock wise a couple of turns. Then turn the mechanism in the front of the top until it opens. The next step is easier with two people. With the allen in the front loosened fold the front and back of the top together then have an assistant pull the release loop next to the pump to open the tonneu cover. Fold the top into the tonnue cover then let the tonnue cover drop down. Tighten the allen on the pump. Start the engine and raise the front windows. Hold both switches for a few seconds then lower both windows. Press and hold the top up switch and it should raise.
