07 Jaguar Xk Won't Start After Replacing The Battery, Bad Fuse/relay?
Already Tried: BATTERY CHARGER FOR 2 DAYS. JUMP START ACCORDING TO MANUAL, BATTERY REPLACEMENT WITH CORRECT CRANKING AMP BATTERY.
Hello and welcome to justanswer.comSo the engine will nor crank? Does the vehicle power up as normal when you depress the start switch. Are any warnings on? Any smart key warnings?
Vehicle will power up as normal when pressing the start button once. I put my foot on the brake and press the start button, all the power goes off, like I just depressed the start button to turn everything off. There are no warnings, no smart key warnings either.
Ok we either have a problem with the battery as low voltage can cause this. Another possibility is a faulty brake switch or ABS as the module needs to see brake signal in order to crank. Without a Jag factory tool it will be difficult to pinpoint.
It appears the vehicle is recognizing the brake switch because when you press your foot on the brake pedal, the console message to depress the brake to start goes away. What else could it be?
Then there can be a problem with the ABS module. The vehicle computer needs to see an input from the brake switch as well as pressure from the module. Lets disconnect the negative battery terminal for 10 minutes then reconnect it. Depress the start switch without your foot on the brake and leave the vehicle on for 30 seconds. Then see if it will crank.
Ok. I'll try that. It is a bummer that we are 6 hours time difference.
Let me know.
Ok. I did exactly as you said and still no success. Any other options
I suspect we have a problem with the ABS not reading brake pressure. Unfortunately you will need a tow to the dealer to confirm this unless we still have a battery/voltage issue but I do not think this is the case since the battery is new.
Unfortunately this puts me right back where I started, having it towed to a shop. I agree, I don't thing it is a voltage issue.
Like most newer vehicles there is really not much you can do yourself. The other possibility is a faulty starter or even the junction box. If you do take it in then do not authorize any repairs until you get back to me.
