have a 2003 s-type jaguar 4.2 ltr.electric parking brake inop.replaced fuse #f52 in luggage compartment.warning chime sounds now then message on dash says park brake inop.brake still inop.parking brake pads have about 60% wear. can u help?

Hello and welcome back to justanswer.com

You most likely have a problem with the electronic parking brake motor. A Jag factory tool is needed to diagnose this but we can do a reset. Disconnect the negative battery terminal cable for 10 minutes then reconnect it and start the engine. It should say Apply Park Brake. Pump the brake pedal then hold it down and pull up on the park brake switch to see if it will reset.

richard i tried the method u sent above.after applying the brake and pulling up on the park brake handle,i can hear a pump or motor running for a short time then it goes back to park brake inop reading on dash

Ok this is usually a fault with the motor. There are position sensors that fail causing this exact same problem.
