1. I regret to say that there is nothing in Ireland which is similar to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act which exists in the UK whereby offences are automatically deleted from a person's record after a certain period of time, normally seven years. During the last government, Fianna Fail TD Barry Andrews attempted to introduce similar legislation in Ireland which would have meant that a drink driving endorsement would be deleted after seven years. This did not pass into law. Accordingly, a drink driving endorsement will remain on file indefinitely in Ireland. It will never be removed. Until such times as legislation is passed to this effect, your drink driving endorsement will remain on your Irish criminal record.
