My ex husband wants to visit our children (age 14 & 11) in my home as he does not live nearby. I have advised him that I do not want him in my home which I share with my new partner. He seems to think he is legally entitled to come into my home to visit his children. He has never had a financial interest in my house which I own outright and bought after our Divorce. I am not stopping him seeing the children, he can see them and take them to his parents house or his own home. Am I within my legal rights?
Optional Information: State/Country relating to Question: Ireland Already Tried: I have a Divorce Agreement, the children are resident with me and he has access. He is supposed to pay maintenance, but it is very sporadic. I have in the past allowed him see the kids in my home however I do not feel comfortable with him around. He has no respect for me or my home and I feel the need to vacate my home whenever he is there.
Absolutely you are within your rights, he is not entitled to enter your property without your consent. I am assuming that the access arrangement under the Decree of Divorce does not provide that access takes place at your house
