I am authoring a medical question bank and have a question

Customer Question

Hello. I am authoring a medical question bank and have a question re: copywrite issues.
JA: Do you have a registration record?
Customer: I don't.
JA: Has anything been filed or reported?
Customer: Not yet. My issue is that the bank closely parallels a few resources including actual past exams. I will cite the textbook references but re: past exams can I cite the references the test makers used (articles and textbooks)? I don't want to copywrite it if the material is questionable or needs to be further changed...no question is exactly the same but... they are very similar.
JA: Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: No. Those are my questions. ok.

Hello,

Facts are not susceptible to copyright protection. A citation to any authority is merely a fact -- consequently, you may cite those authorities without fear of copyright infringement.

That said, the only way to be reasonably certain that no infringement has occurred, would be to actually review your final product. If that's something you're interested in having done, please let me know.

I hope I've answered your question. Please let me know if you require further clarification. And, please provide a positive feedback rating for my answer (click 3, 4 or 5 stars) -- otherwise, I receive nothing for my efforts in your behalf.

Thanks again for using Justanswer!
