Intellectual Property Law Questions? Ask a Lawyer
Hi - my name is ***** ***** I'll be glad to assist. A copyright is reserved to art, literary works, etc...so a short phrase or a business title wouldn't be eligible for a copyright. But, it could be possible to trademark the name/title. Also, there's a such thing as a common law trademark, which is obtained by the owner as soon as the title is used in commerce. Also, it would be possible to seek a registered trademark with the USPTO. Here's a good link that outlines the process: http://www.uspto.gov/trademarks-getting-started/trademark-process
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Also, please take time to positively rate our conversation so I may receive credit for assisting. Thanks again!
