I have questions regarding copyright laws, patent laws,... I have an idea, about something, and another idea of a potential invention. I need to know if I what can be copyrighted, patented,etc... and approx. cost and process.. Dont really need great details, but need ansers regrading whether a idea can be copyrighted, if I write a paper about it.

An "idea" is not protectable in any way. An original writing/photograph/artwork etc. can be copyrighted, the copyright can be registered online at www.copyright.gov for about $40. Only an invention can be patented, and it must be useful, new and non-obvious...a patent application costs thousands of dollars in filing and preparation fees, and depends on the type of invention and provisional vs. utility patent application.
