Recent Feedback
Recently I received the copyright back from the publisher so I can re-publish the material. Do I need to apply for a new copyright and/ or a new (ISBN) number and if so, how do I go about it?
Optional Information: State/Country relating to question: Massachusetts Already Tried: Nothing because I am looking into getting the children's bilingual book republished.
hello
a specific work can only be copyrighted once
if it is revised or modified in a meaningful way, the new work can of course be copyrighted
The ISBN identifies both the book and the original publisher, so if either changes then a new ISBN would be needed.
You did not address the other part of my question. It is not clear.
which part?
how to go about getting a new ISBN?
How do I go about getting the new ISBN number?
Yes.
sorry but that is not a legal/IP law question so it would be outside my area of knowledge
but i could point you to some sites with info on how to do that
Where would I get information of that?
I think this site's FAQ has all the answers, including your specific one: http://www.isbn.org/standards/home/isbn/us/isbnqa.asp
OK. I will try that site. Thank you!
