Have a older 19 ft lift, new batteries. Noticed charger goes

Customer Question

Have a older 19 ft lift, new batteries. Noticed charger goes halfway up when plugged in then drops off. Has been working. Lift will only operate by the service switch to go up or down. Just clicks from controller, will not drive, turn wheels or lift.

Hello! Let's see if we can can work together to get to the root of your question!

Make and model? 24 volt charger? Do you have 24 volts getting to the pump motor solenoid from the battery pack? With voltmeter, what does each battery voltage test? With 6 volt batteries, each battery should be above 6.5 volts. for a total of 28 volts fully charged.

Voltage check s out good, even did a load test on each battery, they're good to go not getting a reading at motor, or on the solenoid behind the battery charger.

But lift will lift from the lower control? You should always have 24 volts to the solenoid going to the pump motor, the control closes the solenoid and sends power to the pump motor. Unless this is an odd ball scissor lift, it only as a singe pump motor and pump, so if it works from the lower, it should work from the upper. Upper is not closing the solenoid. Lack of voltage or a broken wire between upper and lower solenoid.
