I am here to help.
18 U.S.C. § 1325(c), provides a penalty of up to five years imprisonment and up to $250,000 fine for any "individual who knowingly enters into a marriage for the purpose of evading any provision of the immigration laws."
This is a penalty that could be applied against your ex-spouse and against you as well if they determined that you were involved too. So not only are they looking to find evidence against her that she only married for the green card but that you were involved in the fraud as well. So if you go to a meeting with them, keep that in mind because if they find out that you were involved in a fraud, you could be charged criminally. I would recommend perhaps going with an attorney. You could look for one at www.ailalawyer.com.
My goal is to provide you with excellent service – if you feel you have received anything less, please reply back as I am happy to address follow-up questions and there is no additional charge. Also, should you need to chat on the phone, private email or need help reviewing documentation, I am happy to do so for a small additional cost. Let me know if you are interested in these – I am happy to give you more details! When we are done, if you would be so kind as to leave a positive rating for my service, I would sincerely ***** ***** You can do that by clicking on the 3rd, 4th or 5th stars if you see them, or the smiley faces if you see them.
