Will a permanent resident be able to help their parents to

This answer was rated:

Will a permanent resident be able to help their parents to come and live in the US? Or it has to be a citizen? What is the minimum age to apply for citizenship in Chinese language?
Thank you for your inquiry. Only a U.S. citizen may file a I-130 Petition for his or her parents in order for the parents to obtain lawful permanent residence status.

The minimum age would be 50 assuming that the person has lived in the United States as a permanent resident for twenty years. The person would not be required to pass the English language requirement but would be eligible to use a interpreter for the Civics exam.

In the alternative, the person could be 55 and live in the United States for fifteen years and be eligible for the same exception.
