A little over a year ago I signed the support doc the government needed for processing my wifes I-130 and I-485 now my question is we are looking for health insurance. It is so expensive and I see that highmark blue shield has a low income special care plan in our area. Would we still be eligible to get this plan even though I signed this support doc? I recall it saying something about me supporting my wife and her not being able to get government assistance. Since we would be paying for the insurance just a lower amount that is what confused me if we would be eligable or not.
Optional Information: State/Country relating to question: Pennsylvania
Yes. The support document mainly refers to using means-tested public benefits such as non-emergency medicare, welfare, food stamps, etc. Purchasing a low income special care plan that is not connected to any public funding should not cause you a problem. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I would be happy to answer them for you without additional charge. If there is a delay in getting back to you it is either because I am answering other questions or I had to log off, but I will be back with you as soon as possible. It is VERY important that if you are not satisfied, please ask additional questions. My goal is to provide you with top-notch service. And please don't forget to rate me, but please rate me on my service to you, not the state of the law because I have no control over that. Also, a bonus is always appreciated.
