I have 2 offers and I'm on h1b visa here. For the first company my h1b has been completely transferred and i'm all set to join them immediately. But I'll not join them as I will be going with the second company. Now I have been at home for almost 2 weeks now (without payroll) and the next company is still working on my paper work so it might be another 2 weeks by the time I get my h1b papers submitted. How long can i sit home, without payroll to maintain my legal status on h1b visa? What can be done to avoid being in a such a position?
