My son is married to an Armenia national and has applied for

Resolved Question:

My son is married to an Armenia national and has applied for her visa. We just got a notification form the National Visa Center that I have to fill out an I 864? My son filled out an I 864 and I filled out the I 864A? Is this necessary for me to fill this out? My son is a Peace Corps volunteer and thus has no income at present.

Our son legal address is the same as ours and he will be living with us upon his return to the US. We do not claim him on our taxes he is 24 years old.

Unfortunately, because your son doesn't currently reside with you, it appears that the National Visa Center will require for you to complete an I-864, which will basically will subject you to the same legal responsibility for your son's wife as the form I-864A.

I would suggest that you do comply with this request from the National Visa Center as soon as you can, as your son's wife's visa application will not be processed until you do comply with this request.
