Hi Judith, I am negotiating with my employer on the proper job title to file my GC application under. And we are considering between an individual contributor role vs. a managerial role. I am currently working as an individual contributor (senior analyst), and my employer is planning a career path for me to grow into an Analytics Manager role, who does operational analysis, and also mentors people (so it is kind of a mix).1. I heard that according to the DOL definition, when they see an "manager" title filed, they assume that it is a role mainly do people management, and little actual "work". Is that true?

Hello, welcome to JustAnswer, my name is Judith. Thank you for this opportunity to answer your questions
Generally a manager supervises the worker bees and does little actual day to day work duties.
So depending on the number of people under you and the exact job title and duties, it is difficult for me to say in general terms.
As you know we can only give general information and this question is so job duty specific. A lawyer would have to sit down and look at the job description/duties, etc to really say whether it falls under management or not.
