applied Green Card renewal on line 3 days before expiration. received confirmation receipt and I-797, waiting for next step. i have to travel abroad for about 10 days in about one month. now my green card is expired. do i have problem re-entering to the states? what do i have to do?

Your only option at this point is to make an InfoPass appointment with the local USCIS field office (Detroit - Jefferson Ave) and take with your your current unexpired passport, the I-797 fee receipt and your travel itinerary or e-ticket.
The Information officer can put a temporary evidence of residence status stamp in your passport which will allow you to board your return flight and enter the US.
