Customer Question

what are the options to establish a permanent residency or a visa status for an overstayed person (J1 then B2 visas)? are there chances to apply for asylum if homosexual, have a partner?

Optional Information:
State/Country relating to question: Russian Federation

Already Tried:
when J1 expired, wa suggested to etend the stay by switching to B2 as it being the only option, found out later that such transfer put an expiration on I-94. I have college transcripts and would like to apply for college to continue education.

Hello, welcome to JustAnswer, my name isXXXXX you for this opportunity to answer your questions.

You have to file for asylum within one year of arrival.

There can be some exceptions if there has been a change in circumstances in your country.

Many asylum cases based on homosexualty are successful.
