By chance is the engine hot? If your sonata has the option of a temp gauge, turn the key to the run/on position and see if temp gauge is showing hot or hotter than normal. Also, check for any other warning indicators (the oil light and battery light will be on-that's normal).
No temp gauge?
Does the engine seem hot? Making ticking, cooling noises?

So the engine is still running?
Does it rev up like the transmission is slipping?
If the engine is still running then the problem is likely in the transmission. It's not very common for all of the gears to go at once. Will it engage in reverse?
If the engine is running but it won't move at all then the transmission has likely failed. There aren't any major fluid leaks under the vehicle right? The most common cause of the transmission going out suddenly like that would be a complete fluid loss.

It's rare that a battery will make the vehicle stall or not move forward, but if it develops an internal short it makes all kinds of electronics freak out on these newer vehicles. They rely on a constant voltage stream from the battery to make everything work correctly. Please let me know if you need help in the future.
