I have a 2013 Hyundai Santa fe sport. Both remotes suddenly

Customer Question

I have a 2013 Hyundai Santa fe sport. Both remotes suddenly wouldn't open the car remotely. They still work when I press the door handle and start with the push bottun.
JA: Will the headlights turn on? Is the battery fully charged?
Customer: New battery. Everything works just fine. Only they don't open remotely
JA: Are you fixing your Santa Fe yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I've not tried anything. But, my son used the car once and this phenomenon began
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: I remember that it happened once before and I believe I disconnected the battery for a few seconds and did the trick

Hello, have you ever changed the batteries in the remotes? We see this quite often and it usually is just the remote batteries going bad.

I don't think it is the batteries.
I changed the batteries in one the remotes a couple of weeks ago.
For them not to work suddenly at the same time, it takes a system problem.
I will check the batteries anyway.

if that doesn't work, I'll try disconnecting the battery.

Ok, you can also try having the dealer neutralize the system and relearn the remotes, that usually works if they are losing the programming

Can I not do it myself without any tool? Do I have to go to the dealer?

No unfortunately it has to be done with a Hyundai scan tool. So yes you'll have to go to the dealer.
