Hello I will help,

Have you tried pressing down or bouncing the trunk lid while you press the release button?

Is it possible that something in the trunk is jammed in the latch or pressing up on the lid?

Customer: replied 10 days ago.
we have tried that already
Expert:  George H. replied 10 days ago.

Then I don't have any suggestions I can offer from here so I will OPT OUT of your questions. Maybe another tech can help

is there any way to get in the trunk from inside the car
Expert:  Dan replied 10 days ago.

Different expert here,

You can remove the rear seat back to get in the trunk and pull the release cable. Sometimes the seats will fold down but not always. You can remove the seat back its not that difficult to do.

Expert:  Dan replied 10 days ago.

Remove the seat bottom first then the seat back. There are a couple bolts holding it to the body.
