My ESC warning light comes on and I lose power and if I shut

Customer Question

My ESC warning light comes on and I lose power and if I shut the car down and restart it, the light goes out. It seems to be happening more frequently.
JA: Just to clarify, what are the exact lights you're talking about?
Customer: The ESC OFF warning light in the dash
JA: What is the model/year of your Hyundai?
Customer: 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe
JA: Are you fixing your Santa Fe yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I haven't tried anything yet and probably not fixing myself - I was just doing a search to see if this was a common issue so I could have more knowledge before I headed to a mechanic
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: not that I can think of

Your Electronic Stability Control light comes on when the system sees a fault and when this happens the computer will set and store a fault code. In order to determine what is failing you are going to need to start first with having the system scanned to retrieve the fault code and or codes. If you can get this done and post back with them I will advise you on the needed repair.

ok - thanks - I will head over to a local garage and get the codes.

Your very welcome, post back once you have them and I will advise you from there.
