Hello there,

Where do you think this knocking noise is, the engine, front or rear suspension?

Hi again,

Do you need any further help?

Generally a dull deep sound from the middle to bottom of the engine would be terminal.

I hope my advice has been of assistance to you.

Kind regards

the knocking noise is coming from front Timimg belt area and what is the solution to it
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
if is the terminal what is the solution to it
Expert:  Gary replied 10 months ago.

Hello again,

If you believe the noise is from the timing belt area, then is it fixable, but please don't drive too much until you have the car inspected.

Could be a $500 job, but if the belt breaks or an idler or waterpump or tensioner fails, then it could be $3000 or more.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

Gary

the knocking noise is coming from front but i don't know if its Timimg belt area

I recommend you get a mechanic to listen to the engine.

I recommend a mechanic does the job for you, if you aren't up for this type of work.

Are you able to host a video of the noise on youtube etc?

And post a link to it here?

Have you done a timing belt on this car before?

If it sounds like a SERIOUS knock, then it may be deeper within the engine.

I would have it assessed quickly by a local workshop.

Hi there,

If that is your noise, in that video it is the A/C compressor, front bearing failure.

It will cost you about $800 for a new compressor, but glad the noise is not in the engine.

Now you need to find a compressor, and get the job done, preferably by an A/C tech.
