Hi. Have you checked the oil level? And do you have a KIA/Hyundai oil filter on it?
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Just changed the oil (synthetic 5W/20). Wix oil filter. It was doing the same when I had new (<2000 miles) oil and a Hyundai/Kia oil filter.

Ok. If your engine oil pressure is good, then more than likely the CVVT assembly needs to be replaced.
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
How can I know if the oil pressure is good, other than the low oil pressure light illuminating?
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
How big a repair job is replacing the CVVT assembly? Wondering if it's something I can do myself. What does the assembly consist of?
Expert:  EricFromCT replied 7 months ago.
To check the actual oil pressure you need to get an oil pressure gage and install it to where the oil pressure sending unit is. If the cvvt needs to be replaced the timing chain needs to be removed. It is a pretty good sized job. It will cost approx 800 dollars to have this done at a dealer.
