Customer Question

I just bought 2000 Hyundai Sonata the next day I started it and a ton of white smoke came out from underneath up near the drivers side. After I let it run for about 15 mins is barely smoked. It was only 15 degrees here if that makes a difference.

Hello, I'm Brandon - Hyundai tech.

All the exhaust smoke should be coming out of the rear of the muffler.

When the smoke is coming from the side, it is telling me there is crack or leak in the middle of the exhaust pipe.

You will need to get this check out and have the exhaust pipe replaced.

A typical exhaust pipe can run you about $500.
