Hello, I'm Brandon - Hyundai tech.

The check engine light came on because one of the sensor has a problem or has capture an issue with the emission.

First you need to hook up an OBD2 scanner into the vehicle's ecu.

The obd2 scanner typically cost about $50 and it will give you a trouble code starts with a P prefix.

It will give you an idea what is wrong with the car.

It could be a misfire or a simple connector is loose.

The scanner can be purchased at autozone or Amazon.com.

Let me know if you have further question. Please rate me positive for the prompt service, thank you!
