How to remove the torque converter on the unday elantra 2007

Customer Question

How to remove the torque converter on the hiunday elantra 2007

Hello I will help you with your question,

To separate the transmission from the engine remove the starter then remove the converter to flex plate bolts as you rotate the crankshaft to bring the bolts to the starter opening. Once you have the bolts off the torque converter should separate with the transmission and if you need to replace it you can pull it out of the transmission at that point. If you install a new converter you have to rotate it back and forth to fully seat the converter drive in the transmission pump.

Please let me know how I can help

Thank you

On the 2007 elantra can I install the other transmission without remove the torque converter?

If you leave the torque converter in the transmission then you can just unbolt it from the engine flex plate and pull the two apart, no reason to remove it from the transmission unless you are replacing the converter or working on the transmission.

Thank you
