have you pulled codes?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No not yet. Waiting on my buddy to get the scanner.
Expert:  eauto replied 1 year ago.

need to start there could be a failed iac or tps or even a a vacum leak but the trouble codes will help narrow down the cause

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I will know tomorrow evening. I will keep you posted
Expert:  eauto replied 1 year ago.

great

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I got the scanner but now it does not want to connect. I found a white plug that is not connected next to the diagnostic plug. Do you know where that connects? I used to use the scanner before and it worked fine.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
i got my tester. And checked inside and outside fuses. All good. Could it be that when the took apart the engine they forgot to connect something back in the engine compartment?
Expert:  eauto replied 1 year ago.

does the scan tool work on other vehicles? does it light up? what brand and model scan tool?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I will test it on my magnum. I used it before and it has great before. Im going to go back outside and check.

here are the diagrams for the dlc check the fuses in the diagrams

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Are these located in the fuse box in the engine compartment
Expert:  eauto replied 1 year ago.

I believe one is in the under hood and the other is inside

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I will check again tomorrow when i get out of work. Is there anything in the engine compartment that the mechanic could have forgotten to connect that would cause it not to have a connection
Expert:  eauto replied 1 year ago.

not that I can think of.. why isn't the mechanic who fixed it correcting the issues?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Because he could not figure out why the check enginelight turns on.
The engine starts up great. Has power.
It had a misfire until i figured out that the the spark plug wires were not properly placed in order. After i fixed the wired the misfires went away.
So now we can't figure out why the check engine light is on and now we can't even get a code because the scanner is not connecting.
