If I were to install a used BCM on a 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Customer Question

If I were to install a used BCM on a 2006 Hyundai Sonata 3.3L V6, do I need to do any programming / reprogramming, or is it just a swap ?

the BCM must be programmed and the options set in the replacement or new BCM

2006 Sonata vehicles come equipped with Body Control Modules (BCM) that are programmable using the Hi-Scan Pro. The following options are programmable:

^AUTO DOOR LOCK STATUS: This option can be disabled, or the speed of the vehicle which the door lock activates can be set (20 - 40 km/h).

^ARM/DISARM BY KEY (+RK): If enabled, the vehicle can be unlocked without disarming the alarm if the key is used to open the door. If disabled, the alarm will be activated even if the correct key is used to enter the vehicle. The alarm would need to be disabled using the remote.

^HORN ANSWER BACK (+RK): The honking of the horn when the alarm is activated or deactivated can be turned off.

any shop with a programming scan tool can do this for you

if I install a used BCM from the same year make model, the car will work with the existing programming in the used BCM?
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

that is correct

I don't have a Hyundai hi-scan tool, but I do have a snap-on MODIS.
To confirm,
A) I can change the horn with my snap on modis
B) I can NOT change the auto door lock status
C) I can NOT change the arm / disarm by key
