Hi i have a 2010 elantra --- when i turn the key I get nothing. Jumping did not work -- am I safe to think this is the starter

Hello, my name is ***** ***** I am a professional here at Just Answer. I have noticed that your question was not getting a response and thought I would see if you still need help with this.I apologize for the delay and I hope I can still assist you with this here.
Before you assume its the starter take your 12 volt test light and or volt meter and at the starter with the key in the crank position see if you have power on the small orange start wire as well as power on the large red wire. If both have battery voltage and it still does not crank then yes, the starter is bad. If you find no voltage on the orange wire then run the test steps in the link below .
