The Purge Control Solenoid Valve (PCSV) is located at the top, rear of the engine:

Its not at that location. Any other place it might be?

That's the only location I am showing for the 2005 3.5L engine. I will opt-out and forward you to another Tech that may have a different location.

Hello, different expert here,

 

The purge valve is supposed to be in the location shown above but it is down low on a bracket attached to the back of the intake plenum.

 

If the plenum was removed to replace the sparkplugs the valve may be even lower behind the intake.

 

Follow the vacuum line forward from the charcoal canister mounted in the center of the vehicle and you will run into the purge valve. It may be that the vacuum line from the valve to the manifold was never attached and that would give a code for the valve.
