The first thing I would do is the check for air leaks in the air induction system and clean the mass air flow sensor. It is most likely going to be one of those two things. If cleaning the mass air flow sensor helps but does not fix it, it will likely need to be replaced. If that does not help then I would start checking for vacuum leaks.

How should I clean the mass air flow?
You can get special spray cleaner from the parts store or use electronics cleaner. Just remove the sensor and use the spray only, do not try to brush it or scrub it. Here is what it looks like.
