Hi, I'm Jeff and here to help you. If there's a lot of tension in the steering system when the wheel locks, it can be very difficult to undo. Try [if you haven't] turning the wheel both ways. If it's locked from tension, there should be a little movement one way and none in the other. Turn hard in the direction it moves, and hold it while you try and turn the key.
Keys are not that strong so watch out for it bending.
If for some reason there's an amazing amount of tension in the steering, it can be relieved by jacking up a front tire, so it's off the ground. This should relax any tension between the rack and the steering column shaft. If you have any questions please ask, I'll be waiting for your reply. Jeff
