My wife's 2004 Elanatra overheated and now it won't start. What are the possible problems?
Country: United StatesMake: HyundaiModel: Elantra GLYear: 2004 Already Tried: Just tried to start it. It turns over, but doesn't attempt to start at all. It does have fuel.
Was it driven a long time after it overheated ?
I'm not sure how long it was driven. She had been keeping an eye on the temperature gage and it wasn't in the hot/high range and then it just jumped to the high range and then maybe 3 miles later it quits.
Ok so know it just cranks over and does not start correct ?Is the engine light on?
I don't know for sure, but I don't think so. I'm not with the car right now.
Ok that would help if you can tell me that. Most common is the vehicle got so hot it melted the crank or cam sensor which is causing this issue.Another possibility is the water pump seized and the timing belt jumped time or snapped. These are what you need to check next for this issue.Hoped this helped.Positive feedback and bonuses greatly appreciated.
