Just took a test drive in a 2013 Genesis Coupe 4-T Premium. This is the 274HP/274 lbsft/8 speed automatic. It was extremely slow! I might have been, other then dealer staff, the first customer to drive it, only 24 miles showing on the clock.Salesman had no clue but let me drive a sonata with the same engine but 6 speed auto & it was much quicker. It had 62 miles on the odo.Salesman didn't know but suspected the newer performace cars might have a chipprogram to reduce performance during a break-in period......I believe the VSC was full on (I didn't touch it) but I can't believe that was the problem,or was it?
Optional Information: Computer OS: Windows 7 Browser: IE Already Tried: Nothing/dealer's car...
Hello and welcome to JustAnswer. I look forward to assisting you today with your question and providing the best answer possible.
I wouldn't buy the excuse the sales person gave. While you're supposed to break-in the car slowly, I see no reason why the manufacturer would place a governor/limiter on it.
I suspect the 8 speeds has more range which may give the impression it's not moving as fast. Or they could have a new car with some sort of problem. I'd ask to test drive another Genesis just to be sure.
"Slow" is sort of a relative term. Also I've owned a CL, and CLS Mercedes before purchasing a GL (SUV). When I first drove the GL I thought it was slow. What I found was that it was extremely tame at low speeds, but flooring it, or getting it on the highway, it moved VERY quickly and gracefully for an SUV of that size. So some vehicles are tuned differently. Some may drive more tame depending on when and how you hit the pedal.
Second try on this reply.....
Thank you but I probably need a Hyundai mechanic.
I wish I had a computer question for you, I don't, so your answer was unable to be on topic for some....... computer glitch perhaps.
Anyway I can't except the answer, no fault of yours, just wrong expert...
Thanks
No worries, I'm going to report your question as miscategorized. Stand-by for a mechanic.

Name is XXXXX XXXXX i will assist you the best i can, please Only accept if you are happy with my answer. If the VSC is on then this car may have a malfunction with the vehicle stability control system putting it in limp mode , they should have this car hooked up to a scan tool to diagnose this problem as this car is a very fast car and moves a lot faster than the Sonata and the Sonata is a fast car as well.13.9 seconds at 102.2 mph, this is faster than the Ford Mustang V6.0 - 60 mph in 5.2 secSo there is surly a malfunction with this car and the sales man will have to send it in to be checked and diagnosed .Need further assistance then please let me know .Kind regards Greg
