HI there!
There aren't really any good written instructions, so here is a diagram
Drain the coolant below the level of the thermostat, then remove the 2 bolts I have highlighted in the diagram. Pull the old one out and slide a new one in and then top off the coolant. Run the car until it is up to operating temp with the radiator cap off, be careful as it will be hot and burping up air bubbles. Then, turn the car off and top off the fluid level, install the cap and you should be good to go.

is this a fairly easy thing to do? or should I take it to a shop?

I think the most difficult part is to get the air out of the system. This may take some work, burping it and then possibly having to do it a few times.
It really depends on your skill level. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the best skills, I would rate this a 4 or 5. Try to base it where your skill set is at.
It's hard to say to be honest, not knowing you and all.
