Customer Question

I`m changing the primary controller on my oil burner and I`m a little confused about the wiring. The new controller only has 3 wires and the old controller had 6 wire. What`s the correct sequence from shutoff switch to lwco, pressuretrol and controller?
JA: I'll do all I can to help. How long have you been dealing with this?
Customer: Just today
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: yes, I`m pretty good at working on the boiler but the difference in the wiring confuses me.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: I removed the pre-purge solinoid so it isn't working

Welcome to Just Answer, my name is ***** ***** I will do my best to help you with your issue. First I’ll need some more info so I have a more complete picture of you situation.

What is the brand and model number of the new control? All the devices you mention are wired in series before the ignition control.

Customer: replied 15 days ago.
It`s a honeywell R8184G4009
Expert:  Rick replied 15 days ago.

Ok, you tie all your commons (whites) together, hot line in to black, orange to burner motor and ignition transformer.

Ok but what about the lwco and pressuretrol where do they tie in
Expert:  Rick replied 15 days ago.

Like I said before they are wired in series before the ignition control. The end of that circuti is you line in to the R8184. If you need more input I need the brand and model number of the boiler.
